Stand up comedy open mic nights monthly at Eva’s Hideaway in Calumet
In order to create a thriving and complete comedy scene, FSP Comedy partners with Eva’s Hideaway for our open mic nights. They hosted our first ever open mic in August of 2023, and we’ve had a great crowd there ever since. By keeping the event free, we hope to open comedy up to as many people as possible. Getting together and laughing brings people together and builds community. We all need a good laugh once in a while.
Dates and times
- Sign up to tell jokes officially at 8 PM, but the list if usually out earlier.
- Jokes start at 8:30 PM.
- Shows typically last between 25 and 45 mins, depending on comedian turn out.
- Dates for 2024 are: 1/18, 2/15, 3/14, 4/11, 5/16, 6/20, 7/18, 8/15, 9/19, 10/17, 11/21, 12/12
For comedy fans:
- Show is free to attend, and free to the venue.
- Eva’s has a full bar with a diverse selection of fine spirits and premium beers, as well as affordable domestic and well drinks.
- Pizza’s are available at the bar.
- Please be kind to the staff and tip well.
- Bring a group of co-workers, friends, family, whoever. It’s a great night out.
For comedians and aspiring comedians:
- Show up, go up
- The show is unpaid, but open mics are always an audition to open our local shows.
- Tell as little as one joke
- Take up to 5 minutes.
- The environment at these open mics is very positive, controversial material usually doesn’t hit well but you’re welcome to try any honest attempt at a joke you have. We reserve the right to cut your mic if you cross over from humor into hate.
